California is the home of advancing the energy of tomorrow while meeting current demands. The state’s ambitious climate goals require solutions that evolve to cleaner energy sources while keeping costs affordable and access easy for everyday Californians. NCC’s Energy Task Force is working on solutions to produce clean, reliable power while advancing the state’s climate goals. One key initiative includes NCC’s sponsorship of AB 706 (Aguiar-Curry). This bill reopens biomass facilities that convert wildfire debris and agricultural waste into renewable energy. We can supply more energy while removing debris that fuels wildfires. Task force members are also exploring new-generation energy technologies like hydrogen and advanced nuclear to power a resilient and carbon-neutral future.
