California must continue to advance workable solutions that address its tragic homelessness crisis. NCC’s Homelessness Task Force is advancing compassionate strategies to end unsheltered homelessness and achieve functional net-zero homelessness statewide. Building on the progress made on SB 16 (Blakespear), this task force is promoting more accountability for local governments that receive state funds to follow through on their commitments to shelter the homeless. Goals include accelerating the production of rapid low-cost housing and expanding access to wraparound mental health and addiction recovery services that began with our work to pass Prop 1 and the CARE Courts.
