Housing

California’s housing shortage remains the top concern for every Californian seeking to buy or rent. The Housing Task Force is producing solutions to help the state build homes faster to help meet housing demand, softening our skyrocketing housing prices that often are a reason residents flee. We need more homes of all sizes in rural, suburban and urban neighborhoods. This task force is advancing solutions for sensible home construction including CEQA modernization and permitting reform, by-right approvals for townhome development, and investing in infrastructure that make communities more resilient to natural disasters and climate impacts. By curtailing red tape and helping the state and localities meet their construction goals, this task force is advancing practical pathways to make “missing middle” housing reforms a reality.
